49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man. (1 COR 15;46)

The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so also are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 1 Cor 15;46-48).

If you are born again you are a man from heaven a man born from above (John 3;3). born of God and his spirit. Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. (v51). a man born not of flesh and blood but water and Spirit (John 3;5).

And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man. (1 COR 15;46)

What does this image consist of?

Christlikeness. Christlikeness in character and morals, Christlikeness in love for that is what God is God is love. 'Love vaunteth not itself' (1 Cor 13) a mark of the new man in Christ. 'perpereuomai' meaning 'self display' or to make a show of oneself'. Love is not a boaster or a braggart. 'Vaunteth' meaning vain or empty, vanity or vainness. love is neither 'boastful' or 'puffed up.' 'phusioo' meaning 'inflated' some folks have an over inflated ego but the man who has the love of Christ has the greatest self confidence that a man can possible have, love takes the wind out of an over inflated ego and fills that ego with Christlike confidence the type of confidence God walks with. With the same confidence that a braggart speaks of self so too the beliver talks of GOD. That is divine confidence.

This then is the image of the believer who bears the image of Christ. One who is created in his image bearing his image.

Christ the pattern LUKE 23;34). Who being reviled reviled not again. 'is not easily provoked.' paroxunomai' to incite or sir up as to incite a riot or stir things up. love does not yield to provocation. Love is not moved by anger to be angry. external things do not control this man. worlds other say activities others participate in this doe s not mean he is p[assive no, Jesus turned the table upside down did he not. This love checks rising anger that cannot be controlled and checks the burning passion that would make us strike out in revenge, no righteous anger is a Godly response, carnal anger is a response of the flesh. True Love of God in a man 'is not easily provoked' takes no offense (1 Peter 2;21. Love does not contend with each other rather contends for the truth (1 Cor 1;11).

Thinketh no evil (1 Cor 13). doe not make a calculaton based on what another has said or does not make or keep account of the wrongs done to it. love harbours no bitterness. Secondly 'love beareth all things.' 'Stego' thirdly love 'beliveth all things' many say they belive in Jesus yet deny that one should be born of water and spirit, others will deny that you have to be baptised in water to be saved. scriptures clarly teach us that Jesus said a man must be baptised and born of water and spirit. to say you love Jesus yet ignore or dismiss certain things he said invalididates ones faith. for a true love 'beliveth all things' (1 Cor 13;7) Acts 4;36,37)
